Funeral services for J.L. Campbell, 81, of Roscoe, will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Champion Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Parsons officiating. Interment will follow at Champion Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at McCoy Funeral Home in Sweetwater.
Campbell died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at Nolan Nursing and Rehab Center in Sweetwater.
Funeral services for Marta Moreno Espinoza, 85, of Roscoe, will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Frankie Santiago officiating. Interment will follow at Roscoe Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 19, 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Espinoza died Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011, at her residence.
Elias (Lee) Martinez, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 17, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, at Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home Chapel with Ron Chamberlain officiating. Burial will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Cate-Spencer & Trent Funeral Home.

The Sweetwater Jaycees have hooked up with Santa Claus again this year and will host a Santa call in on Tuesday, Dec. 20, 2011, from 6-8 p.m. Numbers to call will be 325-236-5814 and 325-236-5812.

Donations to the 30th annual Spirit of Christmas Food Drive have been phenomenal and tens of thousands of families in the Ark-La-Tex will receive food this year from the effort.
The food drive is sponsored by Brookshire Grocery Company stores, along with many service organizations, food pantries, school groups and other businesses and volunteers.
One played at home while the other played on the road, and their opponents werenât the same either.
But Sweetwater High Schoolâs basketball teams did share a few things in common on Friday. Both played schools from the same Class 2A district (3-2A) whose names start with a âBâ â and both lost.
Sweetwaterâs boys (5-10) played host to Bangs and fell by a score of 58-46. The girls (9-9), meanwhile, went to Ballinger and were beaten 55-37, ending their three-game winning streak.
Sweetwater swept Bangs in sub-varsity boys basket-ball action here Friday.
The freshmen boys won 48-45, and the JV boys de-feated Bangsâ JV 53-45.
Duanta Williams had 13, Rhett Torres 11, J.P. Poe 10, Isaiah McGee eight, Martes Harris four and Bray Amos four for the freshmen boys (7-3). Deandre Gatson had 15, Trey Taylor 14, Marquees Jenkins 12, Quentin Wetsel six, Brandon Howell four and Mike McCoy two for the JV boys (11-4).
