The Women's Resource Center in Sweetwater recently received a large donation of many items for infants.
Every holiday, the youth at First Baptist Church in Roscoe participate in a community service project. This year, church member and Women's Resource Center volunteer Gaynell Harrell suggested that the students donate to the center.
Members of the Nolan County Foundation Board recently announced the awarding of $1,000 to Goodfellows. In making the announcement and presenting agency representative Ken Becker this assistance, Jerry Riggs, President of the NCF, stressed the importance of supporting worthwhile agencies as they serve vital needs for Nolan County residents. Riggs also stated that the NCF will be identifying other special needs and giving additional financial assistance in the near future. Serving the NCF board with Riggs are Glenn Bennett, Ronnie Cox, Bill Johnson, Rod Wetsel, Ronald Williams, J.V.
Holy Mass of Christian burial for Eugenio E. Treviño, Sr., 78, of Sweetwater, will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 15, 2011, at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church, with Father Michael Rodriguez officiating. Interment will follow at Sweetwater Cemetery under the direction of McCoy Funeral Home.
A Rosary will be said by Pauline Gauna at 7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 14 , 2011, at McCoy Chapel of Memories.
Treviño died Wednesday, Jan. 12, 2011, at Rolling Plains Memorial Hospital in Sweetwater.
He was born Nov. 15, 1932, in Kennedy, Texas.

Hollie was born Nov. 16, 1910, in Dallas, Texas. She was joined in Christian marriage to Thomas L. Kennedy before he passed in 1945. By God's grace, Hollie would again enjoy the love and companionship of a mate who would care for her, Elmer E. Smith and they were married in 1948, until she would place him into God's arms of care and grace in 2000. Thomas and Hollie had one son, Thomas F. Kennedy, who preceded her in death on Oct. 16, 2009.

The search for 13-year-old Hailey Dunn from Colorado City continues.
According to a news release Wednesday afternoon, the Task Force, consisting of 12 law enforcement agencies, is continuing the search efforts for the teenage girl. Hailey was reported missing by her mother, Billie Jean Dunn, on Dec. 28, and she was last seen by Shawn Adkins, Dunn's boyfriend, on Dec. 27.
